Classic Italian cocktails
for aperitivo
Italy is not only wine, but also original drinks
created thanks to curiosity, circumstances and love of art.
Italian aperitif (aperitivo) - is a tradition to gather in a bar with friends after work to drink one of the classic Italian drinks. The time for an aperitif is almost sacred - between 7 and 9 pm. Italians, old and young, from north to south, sit down, watch the sunset, sip a cocktail and sigh about the stresses of the past day. This is a special moment of Italian social life.

An aperitif is an anticipation of dinner. It is usually accompanied by light snacks. The idea is to drink and eat "for pleasure".
"For pleasure" is generally the motto of Italian life. No one knows better than Italians how to really relax and let go of all thoughts. Perhaps that why holidays and vacations in Italy are remembered for a lifetime?

Italia Per Famiglie have prepared such holidays for you - a special gentleman's tour for dads and sons. There will be the brightest Italian traditions - from wine tasting and cocktails for dads to joint fishing trips and yacht trips. Contact us: hello@fortini.online

What to drink to join the tradition of the Italian aperitif?
Aperol Spritz
  • WHAT

It is a mix of liqueur with a strong citrus flavor Aperol, ice, Prosecco, soda water.

  • WHO

This drink is more than 100 years old! It was invented in 1919 by the Italian Barbieri brothers. The liqueur rapidly gained popularity due to its original taste, but the real fame came in the early 1950s. In 2003, the Campari Group company became the owner of the Burberry company, which invested substantial funds in advertising the cocktail and made it world famous. In 2012, at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, the jury named the Aperol the best aperitif and awarded it a gold medal.

  • WHERE

Try the Aperol Spritz in the restaurant "Terrazza Aperol" in Milan next to the Duomo (Piazza Duomo).

Bellini
  • WHAT

There are two ingredients in the cocktail - Prosecco and peach puree.

  • WHO

The author of the cocktail is Giuseppe Cipriani, founder of the legendary Harry's bar, located in Venice. In 1948, experimenting with sweet Prosecco and mashed white peaches, Cipriani created the perfect two-to-one ratio, and so the beloved Bellini was born. The cocktail is named after the Renaissance artist Giovanni Bellini.

Negroni
  • WHAT

  • WHO

Legend has it that the authors of this cocktail are Count Camillo Negroni (Camillo Negroni) and an unknown bartender. In 1919, in Florence, the count asked the bartender at the cafe Kars ani to strengthen his usual Americano by replacing gin with soda. The bartender added an orange side dish instead of the typical American lemon slice.

Americano
  • WHAT

  • WHO

Americano invented in 1860 Gaspare Campari (Gaspare Campari) and first served in his Milan bar Caffè Campari. Then the drink was called "Milan - Turin" ("Milano - Torino"). The name "Americano" appeared after the Italians noticed during the prohibition period that this drink was loved by American tourists.
