Mother's Day is observed on the second Sunday of May in Italy. This is the same date as in most other countries that celebrate such a holiday. Mother's Day only became a tradition in Italy starting in 1957 due to the efforts of a Catholic priest from Assisi, but the great love Italians have for their mothers soon caused it to take deep root.

Mother's Day in Italy this year is May 8th. It is the right occasion to enjoy time together, perhaps doing something new and original.
